American Canine Academy is one of New Jersey's leading dog schools.
We offer a range of courses that attract first time dog owners; to those that are serious "sport" enthusiasts and titling their dogs in various venues of competition; to those who know the importance of training and socializing their dogs; to those who just want to have fun with their dog and to those that just want a well mannered pet. Our clientele also consists of top breeders, veterinarians and their staff, fellow professional dog trainers, AKC Judges, groomers, dog walkers, pet sitters and rescue organizations. It is a meeting ground for all who share that extra special bond with their canine companion. You never know who's going to be training their dog right beside you but you can be assured, the atmosphere is warm & friendly and the training is fun!

Our school is staffed with trainers and assistants who are caring and dedicated, service oriented and have a genuine love of pets. We are experienced and/or certified in the following areas: Pet Dog Training, Obedience Training, Behavior Modification and Management, Agility Training, Therapy Dog Training & Certification, AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluations and Testing, Animal Care (Veterinarian Technicians are part of our staff) & Customer Service.

Our first goal is to help you establish a relationship with your pet and turn him/her into a well-mannered member of society. We teach you how to effectively communicate with your dog. We want you to succeed. We want you to reach your goals and we make the training as easy as possible for you. We replace those "nuisance" or unwanted behaviors with alternate behaviors - bringing out your dogs best qualities. We start with the basics and once you've completed the training, the sky is the limit if you decide to compete or just enjoy your well-behaved companion for years to come!

American Canine Academy offers both private and group training. We start the training as early as 9 weeks of age and there's no such thing as a dog that's too old to learn new tricks.
